Ninety minutes in the vaulted spa under the villa: warm stones from the lake shore, a steam room and a cold plunge.

The spa is in the old cisterns beneath the villa, where the walls are a metre thick and the air is still. The ritual starts with twenty minutes of steam, then a cold plunge fed by the spring.
The stones
We collect the stones on the shore below the garden each spring. Your therapist warms them in water and works them along the back and shoulders until the cold of the plunge has gone.
Finish in the relaxation room with chamomile from the garden. Most guests sleep. We will wake you if you ask.
